Most of you know that my family and Ryan's family live hours apart. The positive side of the distance is that we often get to celebrate holidays twice!
The weekend before Thanksgiving, Eli celebrated his first experience of Turkey Day with Nana, Pop-pop, Aunt Lori, Uncle Al, Hannah, and Sophia.
I must say -- while he didn't eat a lot of turkey, he did enjoy every second of sitting around the table with the family and sharing a meal!

Halloween Family Portrait 2012
One family tradition that Ryan's sister started 4 years ago (when Hannah arrived) was a Halloween family photo. Weird, I know, but I love it! Way better than all of us dressing in matching sweaters and standing in front of a fake forest background.
I will admit -- I was all about this year's theme -- the Wizard of Oz!
I spent quite a few nights hot gluing and taping and pining our costumes (I have no idea how to sew!). Ryan's costume was borrowed from my sister-in-law (Aunt Kel) and made by her dad!
Here are just couple of our favorite shots!

Our little pumpkin at the pumpkin patch!
Eli was very excited to head to his first pumpkin patch with Grandma and Aunt Kel! When he heard there would be animals as well as pumpkins, the excitement was too much to contain!
As it was a cool and rainy day, we only went to a small local pumpkin patch down the road from Grandma's, but it was still fun!

"Are you really taking pictures of me surrounded by fruits?"
"OK, I might as well work it!"
"Get my good side!"
"Haha! Totally a typo on this Wanted sign ... I'll get them to acquit!"
"Does my head look small in this one?"
How tall this fall?
"About 2 pumpkins!"
"I'll just check the sinuses of this here cow..."
Does this kid love animals or what?
"What a great day at the pumpkin patch!!!!!"

Last Mets' game of the season!
Eli had such a great time at his first Mets game (and his second) (and all the rest of the MLB games he went to!) that we decided to go to one more game at the end of the season. Nana and Pop-pop came to NY to visit and it was a nice day, so we headed down to CitiField!

Eli takes his Godfather to the Yankees game!
One of the highlights of August was taking Fruncle Steve to a Yankees game for his birthday and one-year wedding anniversary. Aunt Kelly, Ms. Cori and Grandma came with us too! Eli was very excited because he waited all summer to go to his very first Yankees game with his Fruncle Steve!
In addition to celebrating Steve's birthday, it was also a special game because Eli's Grandpa (my and Steve's dad) was a huge Yankees fan. As Grandpa passed away just 3 months before Eli was born, we took a moment and left a special memento in honor of Grandpa at Yankee Stadium. I'd like to think that Eli will always think about his Grandpa when we go to Yankees games.
This may have been one of Eli's favorite games of the whole summer!

"Mom, I know you want a photo of me with Fruncle and Aunt Kel, but I am trying to watch the game!"

Feising in AC
In early August, we met up with cousin Hannah in Atlantic City to see her compete in an Irish Dance Feis. It's so fun to watch her jig!! She obviously loves every second that she is up and dancing for the judges (and Eli loves watching her dance!)!
Cousin Sophia, Aunt Lori, Nana, and Pop-pop were also in AC with us and we had a great time at the beach, hitting up the surf and playing in the sand, as well as doing some outlet shopping and swimming in the hotel pool! I think Eli is already looking forward to next summer's Feis in AC*!
*We hope the recover from Hurricane Sandy goes well and we can visit the Jersey Shore again next summer!

AAA All Star Game!
The 25th AAA All Star Game was held in Buffalo this summer (home of the Buffalo Bisons!). As we have been taking Eli on the tour of major league baseball stadiums, we thought a minor league all star game would be fun!
Actually, we had two nights of fun -- the home run derby and then the all star game itself. We had a great time with Fruncle Steve, Aunt Kel, and Grandma! Here are just a few photos of our fun:

Eli Wynne, future Olympian?
In all his excitement over the Summer Olympics, Eli decided he wanted to throw a summer picnic in Buffalo for all of our friends and family and have some Olympic-sized fun!
It was a wonderful day and we were so happy that everyone stopped by to see us! Our only regret is that we didn't take enough photos of everyone! Friends we haven't seen in a long time stopped by and family came in from out of state! So much fun!
We'll let some photos tell the story!
