Last Mets' game of the season!

Eli had such a great time at his first Mets game (and his second) (and all the rest of the MLB games he went to!) that we decided to go to one more game at the end of the season.  Nana and Pop-pop came to NY to visit and it was a nice day, so we headed down to CitiField!

"Woohoo!  Another Mets game!"

Daddy and Eli at CitiField!

So cute!!

"A great end to a wonderful summer of
MLB baseball!"

Eli takes his Godfather to the Yankees game!

One of the highlights of August was taking Fruncle Steve to a Yankees game for his birthday and one-year wedding anniversary.  Aunt Kelly, Ms. Cori and Grandma came with us too!  Eli was very excited because he waited all summer to go to his very first Yankees game with his Fruncle Steve!

In addition to celebrating Steve's birthday, it was also a special game because Eli's Grandpa (my and Steve's dad) was a huge Yankees fan.  As Grandpa passed away just 3 months before Eli was born, we took a moment and left a special memento in honor of Grandpa at Yankee Stadium.  I'd like to think that Eli will always think about his Grandpa when we go to Yankees games.

This may have been one of Eli's favorite games of the whole summer!

"Grandma, everyone's facing the
other way.  I think that's where
the game is being played!"

"Mom, I know you want a photo of
me with Fruncle and Aunt Kel, but I
am trying to watch the game!"

"These afternoon games always happen during naptime ..."

"Now Ms. Cori, I gotta tell ya,
I love the Yankees and I am so happy
you're all here with me!"

"So much fun at my first Yankees game!!!!"

AAA All Star Game!

The 25th AAA All Star Game was held in Buffalo this summer (home of the Buffalo Bisons!).  As we have been taking Eli on the tour of major league baseball stadiums, we thought a minor league all star game would be fun!

Actually, we had two nights of fun -- the home run derby and then the all star game itself.  We had a great time with Fruncle Steve, Aunt Kel, and Grandma!  Here are just a few photos of our fun:

Eli Wynne, future Olympian?

In all his excitement over the Summer Olympics, Eli decided he wanted to throw a summer picnic in Buffalo for all of our friends and family and have some Olympic-sized fun!

It was a wonderful day and we were so happy that everyone stopped by to see us!  Our only regret is that we didn't take enough photos of everyone!  Friends we haven't seen in a long time stopped by and family came in from out of state!  So much fun!

We'll let some photos tell the story!

A trip to the Pitts!

"I'm glad you guys bought me a
comfy car seat, 'cause I sure do
spend a lot of time in it!"
We continued the PA tour to the western side of the state to have a quick visit with our friends Natalie and Emilio and their daughter Dahlia (who actually live in Altoona, not Long Island, where we met up with them last time!).  We only had a day, but it was fun to hang around the house with the kids and then drive to Pittsburgh to see the zoo with Natalie and Dahlia!  Natalie's a college professor too -- the joys of having summers off!  We love taking the kids to the zoo on a random Tuesday!

What biologists do when they take their kids
to the zoo ....

Everyone poses with the tree of life!

Or the water (it was another HOT day!)!

"Oh my God!  I am petting a dear!!!!!"

"Oh, a dear.  I prefer my ungulates to have an
odd number of toes.  Show me a rhino!"

Not sure who was more interested in whom.
Kangaroo/baby staring contest.

"Look Eli, a Gorilla!"

Gorillas are always a great end
to a great day at the zoo!

After the zoo, we took Eli to his first Pittsburgh Pirates game!  It was a pretty nice night and we had a great time cheering for the Pirates and the Houston Astros!  Eli's favorite part was McCutchen hitting a great home run!

"Another day, another baseball game.
How do I break it to Daddy that my favorite sport
is actually water polo?"

"Just kidding Daddy!  I love baseball!!"
